My poor head - will I ever learn!

I've had a very very quiet day today. For the first time in honestly years I went out on the town last night. I met Jessica and Christine at Molly's and proceeded to party throughout the night. I went to school with Jess and Christine and had only seen Jess once since leaving and Christine not at all. We had such a great time and have proved once again that I am not sensible with alcohol!!! The highlight of our night was being removed from Boogie Wonderland for touching disco balls - As my friend Nik said "why would you have things that drunk people can't touch at head height" We were pretty much the only people in the nightclub and we may have offended them with our crazy dancing. Had Chinese for dinner which was really nice even though most of the time I'm not a fan.

I received a text last night while I was out about going for coffee this morning. I promptly replied and then forgot all about it. As I was languishing in my bed this morning I got a call from Lynne enquiring about my whereabouts - whoops. I did manage to drag myself to the multiple birth playgroup that was on this morning. I'm pleased we went - I had a good time and I ended up meeting some new woman and caught up with some mother's I've met before. The playgroups are held twice a month - once in Lyall Bay which is just down the road and the other one is across town in Ngaio. I had such a good time this morning that I'm definitely going to go to the next one.

I've been meaning to take all of the girls to a playgroup that runs on a Wednesday in Newtown. I never seem to get around to it but now I also realise that until the babies are sitting it's probably to difficult because you aren't allowed to take your buggy into the hall. Something to look forward to!

Audiology was fine - both girls hearing fine. We don't have to go back but if I've got any concerns I can contact them directly instead of having to be referred which is good.

Do my ears look good in this?

We are off to Audiology!

Pay it Forward

Because I don't have enough to do i'm participating in Pay It Forward, which i got from Jenni Anne. Sometime in the next 365 days, she will be sending me something handmade. So to hold up my end of the bargain, I must do the same for the first THREE people who comment on this post, telling me they want to participate. The rules? You will get something handmade from me, maybe not anytime soon, but sometime within the next 365 days. If you decide to participate, you must do the same on your blog, and make something for the first three people who comment to your Pay It Forward post. pretty fun, huh?! so, if you want something handmade from me, (which you KNOW you do.) comment away!!

The Telephone

When shopping for Coco's birthday present Trelise fell in love with a plastic telephone. I told her that if she managed to have no toilet accidents for the next week she would get it for a reward. For the last week she has managed to be accident free!!! It's a miracle!!! After creche today we headed to the Warehouse to pick up the phone. Lucky for us there was two phones left one was broken but the other seemed to be working. Of course when we got home the phone was indeed broken and she is absolutely heartbroken. Poor muppet has screamed and cried but has finally agreed to go back tomorrow and choose something else. I'm not looking forward to the return trip tomorrow.

The babies are getting more and more mobile. Jules is in the lead with ability at present but I see solid determination in Maddie's eyes so I'm expecting her to come from behind! They just love the jolly jumper and can jump and jump and jump! They had apple and mango delight for lunch today and they said it was absolutely delightful!

We seem to have medical appointments stacking up - in the next couple of weeks we have for the babies audiology appointments and the next round of immunisations, Trelise has a hearing check through creche and a appointment for speech therapy for Trelise. The speech therapy is a bit of a sore point as I don't think she needs it but creche think it will benefit her. We have just had the development therapist, a podiatrist through creche (looking forward to that report with the Oliver feet!) and a surgical consult. Plunket must be coming up as well!

Trelise's last word - while being driven to creche this morning - "Mummy lets race - Go Go Go!" She's the ultimate back seat driver!

Happy Birthday Coco

I managed to escape on Saturday morning for a shopping trip at the Number One Shoe Warehouse where I spent $19.95 on a pair of frilly red spotty shoes - so gorgeous! There was a wonderful green snakeskin pair that sadly only came in sizes to big for my little wee feet!

We spent Saturday afternoon at Coco's Birthday party. Coco turned three and had a garden party. It was a beautiful day and was just lovely sitting in the garden with all the kids running around. We have had such a lovely summer winter is going to be a bit of a shock!

Sunday we spent knocking around the house. I was feeling a little under the weather - nothing serious just really tired and ended up sleeping for hours.

We have had a fun busy day today - first we went to Kylie's house for a multiple birth get-together and met Kylie's triplets for the first time. Trelise was perfectly behaved and even used the toilet all by herself for the first time - I was so excited!!!

We came home and then went to the zoo in the afternoon with Lisa, Hazel, Ruby and Lisa's friend Jane and her children. We were really lucky with animal spotting. The tiger was lying right next to the glass and the lions were all out as well. We got to the chimp enclosure and thought that they were all inside for the night - when we had a look we got a really good view of the chimp baby. He is sooooooo cute!! Trelise lost her marbles when leaving - no sleep does that to a girl and has gone to bed for the night at 5.30pm. My fingers are crossed she doesn't get up in the middle of the night raring to go.

Our morning

So far my morning has been interesting. Trelise seems to be going deaf or just very good at not hearing me! Repeating myself constantly is the most frustrating part of parenting for me!

All the girls were having a good time playing with each other in the lounge - they were all screaming with laughter as Trelise was rallying her troops.

Juliette is the one poking her head out from under the blanket while Madeleine is lying on her back wearing the white pants.

Finally I got them all into the car to drop Trelise off at creche. Hamish was building a structure and looked very excited to see Trelise. He ran over to tell her that they were building and that she needed to come over to help. They both ran off happily to continue building. I went to leave and give her a kiss goodbye and she whispered in my ear "Mummy I do like your hair!"

Car Ride

I had an interesting car ride home yesterday after picking up Trelise from creche.

My first mistake was not removing from the car the items for Coco's Birthday on Saturday. In a bag in the front seat was the present, a carefully chosen card, and some very special gift wrap. The gift wrap is the stuff that comes in a long tube - this tube happens to be very long!

My second mistake was giving the tube of wrapping paper to Trelise when she asked to play with on the way home. I figured as it was shrink wrapped no harm could be done.

My third mistake was probably the placement of the car seats in the car. I have the babies in their capsules on each side with Trelise in her seat in the middle.

As you could probably guess it was a long ride home with me having to fend off blows to the head while driving safely and when that got boring for my little minx she used the wrapping paper as a trumpet positioning the end of the tube right by my ear.

Thankfully I got home without a serious concussion or deafness!

Potato, Pea and Broccoli

My babies are on strike!! They say they are not impressed with Watties potato, pea and broccoli baby food - it sucks!!! Apple custard yes - pears are ok but green is not their friend!

It's started early!

Wayne did notice the hair!

Well Wayne did notice the hair! The only person who doesn't like it is Trelise. Not impressed is an understatement. I think she is not keen on me having a different hair colour from her.

Weight watchers weigh in today - 500 gram loss which I'm a little frustrated at as I'm been trying very hard and I'm still on a no alcohol diet! I've done alot of exercise and still weigh more than I did two weeks ago. I'm hoping that my body is taking time to adjust and next week will be a real improvement. I've got to look into other meetings - now that Kath is heading overseas it seems to much bother to go into town and when you take parking costs into consideration I may as well travel further and go to one that's a lot simpler to get to if I'm by myself.

Juliette is getting very mobile - Madeleine is not far behind but Jules now can be found rolling all over the lounge. I'm still terrified at the thought of two toddlers!

The girls and I had a lovely day together yesterday. In the morning we went for a walk around the zoo. After they all had a sleep we headed to the Warehouse to get a present for Coco's birthday party on Saturday. Trelise carefully picked out Coco's present! We then went to Nik and Coco's for a play before heading home for dinner. All day was fun with no problems!

Yesterday Trelise insisted on wearing her purple party dress to the zoo - I didn't see any reason why not so she got changed into it. I washed her face and brushed her hair and she torn off down the hall to her bedroom. I heard her exclaim in front of her mirror "I'm so cute!"

I've had my hair done!

We were all out of the house early this morning, after dropping off Trelise at creche I raced into town to have my hair done - bye bye blonde! I didn't tell Wayne that I was having it down so I'm looking forward to tonight to see if he notices. He better because it was getting to the stage that it was no longer regrowth!

Kath's done at fantastic job and it looks really good. Madeleine and Juliette were pretty good at the salon. I did hope that they would sleep throughout the procedure but alas they didn't. They had a bit of a grumble but nothing to terrible. Thankfully I chose to wear trousers so was able to rock the buggy with one leg while holding Madeleine and getting my colour washed out. How's that for multitasking!

Last night after I put Trelise to bed I popped back in to tell her what a good girl she was for staying in her bed - she asked for something to eat and I came back with some tiny teddy biscuits. When I gave them to her she said "You are the best mummy in the world, EVER" Just about made me cry!

My Beautiful Girls

This morning like most mornings my three girls woke up around the same time. Trelise usually pops into our bed for a cuddle before the moaning of daughters 2 and 3 force us to jump into action. I've been bringing the babies back into our bed and feeding them their bottle there (I know I may live to regret this one). It makes it a lot easier to feed both as they are propped up with pillows and I get a bit of a cuddle at the same time. Anyway this morning after the babies had eaten all three of my girls were playing together. Trelise and I had a competition to see who could make their baby laugh first - Trelise won! It was such a lovely special time where we just enjoyed being with each other!

We did the Round the Bays walk yesterday - we decided instead of taking the car into town and having to deal with the bus that we would walk from our place, around the bays and back up. It was really successful (surprising really!) The babies were great and slept most of the way. We took Trelise's old stroller for her to sit in and after an initial period of screaming she did. I must remember to apologise to the neighbours!

I've just rung the police and then the council to have a car removed from our street. For some reason our little street has been a popular dumping ground for stolen cars! Anyway it's not stolen just abandoned as it hasn't been reported stolen but it's warrant and registration has long run out so the Police suggested I ring the Council to have in removed. Sometimes the Council rules are just stupid. This car is totally blocking the footpath and is on broken yellow lines and the phone operator told me that they had to sticker it, then write to the owner and then wait quite a bit of time before they could tow it!

I had a lovely afternoon with Trelise - Wayne's mum came down from Paraparaumu to look after Juliette and Trelise while I took Madeleine to the hospital for a follow up appointment for her Malrotation surgery. When I got back I left the babies with Lynette and Trelise and I went to the park for some time out together. It was really nice and I realise now how little time I spend with just us.

I'm looking forward to having my hair done tomorrow - it's been quite sometime and my regrowth is no longer regrowth more like the body of my hair!

Trelise's last word (well words today) was a long tirade about the Doodlebops - it started off with "I don't like this show, I don't like this Doodlebops, no one like the Doodlebops, I don't like the Doodlebops, Coco doesn't like the Doodlebops, Daddy doesn't like the Doodlebops, Hazel doesn't like the Doodlebops - NO ONE LIKES THE DOODLEBOPS! and then finished it with a big sigh!

New Blog

I've been trying to post to the old blog site for a while with no luck so I've given up and started another one! I'm a bit annoyed as I've lost all my older posts. I was going to cut and paste them but blogger keeps erroring and saying the pages can't be found. It looks from the help files that lots of others have the same problem.

It's the start of the weekend - Kath's come over and cut Trelise's hair - it's in pigtails and looks really cute. She's lost her marbles and has been sent to bed currently. The little girls also were tired so they got sent to bed as well! Wayne's gone out so it's just me! Wayne's parent's are coming down to visit this afternoon and bringing vegetables with them!

I didn't do so well at weight watchers this week - up 1.1 kilo's. How that happened I just don't know. I'm having to keep a food dairy this week and it's a bit of a pain. At least I went to the supermarket yesterday so I can write some healthy things in it.

Tomorrow we are going to attempt the 'Round the Bays' walk. We are taking all of the kids so that should be interesting!!!! The weather's not looking so great at the moment and if it's marginal I'm not going to risk it as the last thing I need is to be trapped around the bays with no way of getting home.

Til later .......
