Hide n Seek

I've just been watching the funniest game of hide and seek between Wayne and Trelise. First problem is counting to 10 - the excitement is causing her to miscount so she is counting 1 - 5 repeatably. Finally she gives up and yells 10 and goes off to find Daddy. She's not very good at looking so Daddy gets too hide for quite a while. The last round has had Wayne hiding behind a couch in the lounge and she looked and looked and couldn't find him. Finally she got a play phone and rung him to ask where he is! For Wayne it's quite easy he just needs to follow the giggling and of course she tends to hide in exactly the same place as he had the last round!

He's a picture of Trelise hiding at Christmas at Nana and Poppa's place!

It's a quiet day here

It's a quiet day in the Oliver household. The babies are asleep in their bouncers and Trelise is off at creche.

Trelise had a terrible night last night. She had a busy day at creche and fell asleep on the couch just before 6pm. When she woke up she went crazy and screamed for about an hour. Finally calming down after being totally unreasonable. She wasn't to pleased this morning and had a bit of a problem with the babies. I'm thinking that we should be spending some time with just her over the weekend. Wayne's picking her up tonight and he usually takes her to the supermarket and blockbuster which she finds very exciting.

I've been struggling once again with my course. I've completed 3 assignments out of 5 but I don't know if I can cope with doing the last ones. They take a bit of time and are really simple - to simple really is the problem. I'm seriously thinking of withdrawing but I'm going to leave it for a few more days before making a decision.

We have movement!!

I would like to say crawling but I don't think they are fast enough to use that term. But in the last few days both Maddie and Jules have been slowly making there way around the lounge. We have had a few tense moments when Jules got herself stuck under the bouncer and under the kitchen table. They are very much enjoying playing with Trelise's toys. Here's a picture of Jules with her treasures!

My sweet babies have also had there first fight. This battle was over a my little pony which none of them should of had in the first place as the long tail and mane gets wrapped around little fingers very easily. They both had the pony and were screaming and pulling it between themselves. I did expect fights but I had hoped for peace for a bit longer.

Wordless Wednesday

Trelise is going to hate me for this one! This is the face you get when you ask her to smile for the camera. She really does think it's her camera face!

Happy Bunny Day

It's been a while since my last post. We have been up in Paraparaumu staying with Wayne's parent's since Thursday last week and only got back yesterday afternoon. We had a great time and really enjoyed the change in routine.

Wayne and I managed to go out for dinner a number of times - but twice just the two of us which was really really lovely. After dinner on Thursday night we stumbled across a tavern with a TAB attached and blew a whole $10 . We got a good hour or more out of this and I've discovered I've got a uncanny ability to pick greyhound winners. Not good with the ponies only the dogs!

Trelise as expected loved Easter Sunday and was showered in chocolate treats. She now is very aware of the Easter Bunny and refers to Easter Sunday as Happy Bunny Day - it was very cute until she turned into a chocolate monster! We hid eggs in the backyard and she very happily went around finding them.

We managed to squeeze in a trip to Lindale and Trelise managed to milk a cow and feed a lamb. The Barn (as she calls it) is one of her most favourite places to visit.

On our way home we popped into Katherine and Jeremy's newly renovated house. It is fantastic! I'm eagerly awaiting the photo's to come up on the internet as it was being listed today.

And I almost forgot it's Wordless Wednesday!

I'm going to Sydney - yeeha!

I've finally booked my ticket and I'm off to Sydney in October to my friend Katie's wedding. I'm so excited!!!! It's only me going so it's going to be a bit strange off without my family! I've been looking forward to Katie and Mal's wedding for ages and ages and always knew I would be going but now I've brought the ticket it seems like it is really going to happen!

Katies wedding and a trip to Ikea - what else can a girl ask for!

Speech Therapist

Finally had the Speech Therapist appointment for Trelise. It all went well and the Therapist thinks that she is in the normal developmental range. I tried to ensure a bit of compliance from my wee angel so told her that Kathryn is coming to see her and if she behaves and does what she is asked I would give her a treat. Of course that worked well for a while until the games were finished - then she says "I've been good, I want a treat, I want a treat" I gave her one and then my little friend started up with I want tv, I want tv. I'm sure that child can smell weakness. I'm sure the Speech Therapist wasn't to impressed with my quality parenting - first the sugary treats and then I caved in virtually instantaneously with television - in my defense I needed to hear what the Therapist was recommending!

I am getting my own back - I'm taking her to Junglerama this afternoon with Bella. She loves Junglerama but not so keen on the Bella (Muwhahahaha).

Weight watchers, mobilty and Lilou

Lost 800 grams this week - it's quite random at the moment for me. I didn't weigh in yesterday as the scales were against me! I'm attempting the weight watchers challenge again - so far so good. It's basically to exercise for at least 3.5 hours during the week, drink 8 glasses of water a day, 5 servings of vegetables a day and two of fruit, and no alcohol. The exercise is no problem but I feel I'm in the toilet every 5 minutes and fitting in all that fruit and vegetables is always a problem. Hopefully it will be worth it next week. I'm so looking forward to fitting into my old clothes. I'm not far off but far off enough that it's frustrating!

Madeleine and Juliette are getting more and more mobile. Not crawling yet but they are trying. They are busy in their walkers at the moment but it won't be long before they will be demanding to get out I'm sure.

Trelise woke up this morning absolutely bonkers - she was in a good crazy mood and was basically bouncing off the ceiling. Lucky for me it is a creche day and she can work off the craziness there! It's Hamish and Olivia's last day at creche before going to Scotland so they are having a party this afternoon to say goodbye so she will be happily celebrating.

There is a new girl at creche called Lilou (she's french and it's pronouced Lee-lou not Lilo as I was saying) and Trelise just loves her. She should be happy that Hamish is leaving because he's interferring with the Lilou love!

Furballs

I've been so busy this week - today's really the first day I've had to catch up. I'm enjoying my day getting everything in order. The girlie's are rolling around on the floor amusing themselves - it's a far cry from yesterday where we just did to much and by the afternoon they were not amused and stayed not amused all evening. I was mightily pleased to say night night baby!

I should be doing my course but it's so boring I just can't get my head in the right space to do it.

One of our cats Macca has a furball problem. One of the things that happens occasionally is he throws up a big ball of fur - It looks pretty disgusting. He did this on the path a few days ago and I kept meaning to clean it up but as I only saw it when I was going out (and I'm always in a hurry) or coming back in (I'm usually exhausted) and I have a memory like a sieve I haven't gotten around to cleaning it up - I pretty much have been hoping for rain!

Anyway this morning when we were going to creche Trelise spots the hairball and says in wonder "Look Mummy fairy dust!, this means a Fairy has been and left this for me"

Why Daddy Goes to Work

Trelise is and always has been a Daddy's girl. Every morning when he leaves for work she's gets upset that he is going. Yesterday she asked "Why do you have to go to work?" to which he replied "I need to go to work to earn money" she said "why?" and in a simplistic reply he said "to earn money for me, for mummy and for you and your sisters" Not content to leave it at that she continued the conversation with "and for Chiquita and Carlos" and then "for Macca and Mummy's cat" Wayne of course said yes and went to work.

A few hours later Trelise turned to me and said "Daddy needs to go to work to earn money for your cat" I'm thinking that could be good for me - he's an old cat and I'm the only beneficiary of his will!

Happy Birthday Wayne

Wayne's Birthday was on Wednesday. Trelise and I had a lovely time getting ready for the event. She carefully picked out a present from the $2 shop for him. She chose a packet of 4 plastic cars that they could use to play together. We came home and baked him a cake and then went out for dinner at the Tandoori Heritage (our local indian place) . After we had our meal the girls were all at breaking point so we left but decided to pick up a DVD on the way home. I stayed in the car while Wayne chose I movie he wanted to watch. Quite soon after he left the car the babies started crying so I drove around the carpark to calm them down. This worked but it caused Trelise to start screaming that we had left Daddy behind. She would only stop screaming and crying once I stopped in front of Blockbuster again and then as soon as the car stopped the babies started crying so I started driving again and Trelise started screaming again - Argggggh. I was most pleased when he got back into the car!

We had a visit from the Topliffs yesterday. I met Sara when I was in hospital before having the girls and we roomed together for a week. Her girls Lily and Rosa are just lovely and gave me an insight into what we are in for in the next few weeks! Sara lives in Waikanae (about an hour out of Wellington) so we don't see her very often - we have decided to spend some time at Wayne's parent's over Easter so hopefully we will get a chance to catch up again.

I'm having lunch with the Madness today - it's been a while and I'm really looking forward to it. Deb probably isn't with my insistence on Sushi!

Oh and once again I've been to the Number One Shoe warehouse and brought a magnificent pair of shoes. The latest acquisitions are a pair of fuschia boots that I found in the children's department (I have very small feet). They are wonderful!!!!

Juliette, Matiu and Madeleine

We have various ways of measuring how much the girls have grown - as well as the usual height and weight or even clothing size in but this house we also measure against "the big boy!" My friend Kath's baby Matiu was born a day before the girls. He was full term and weighed a massive 4.95 kilo's! This is a picture of Juliette, Matiu and Madeleine. Matiu is in the middle! The photo was taken in the middle of September making them all 2 months old (Madeleine and Juliette would be 0 adjusted).

Now the rematch - photo taken middle of February 2008 so they are now 7 months (Madeleine and Juliette 5 months adjusted. We are catching up somewhat! (Juliette left, Madeleine right)

Kath and Mike are about to leave for their new life in Scotland so sadly it will be a while until the photo's can be updated.

I've tried to do some of my course today and it's so boring!!! I've given up on the exercises and now I'm just doing the assignments. Maybe choosing something to easy wasn't the best idea!

Refrigerator Meme

Apparently, what is on your refrigerator is a window into what is going on in your family at the time! My fridge was a clutterful mess until I cleaned it up to take this picture! I have pictures of the girls, appointments and parties in the clip, a weight watchers challenge that I haven't undertaken in ages and probably should again! and our collection of travel magnet's (whereever we go on hoilday we get a magnet) If you want to do the same consider yourselves tagged, and then head over to Heart of Wisdom, the originator of this meme to enter to win her contest.

Macca has been stolen!!!

We seem to have a problem with one of our neighbours. She is feeding Macca and he has now pretty much moved over to her house. While I can see from his point of view why this might be a good idea - no silly little dogs or small children but we miss him!

The whole sad saga started a while ago - we had suspicions he was eating elsewhere but he was still living here then he disappeared for ages. After over a week we of course started thinking that he had passed over. I went searching for him and knocked on a neighbour's door to ask if she had seen him. That neighbour hadn't seen him but said that her downstairs neighbor used to feed her cat. When I knocked on her door she wasn't home so I sent Wayne out later to ask if she had seen him.

So Wayne popped over and asked her if she had seen Mac, she said no so he left and was checking under our house to see if he had crawled under there. When he came out, low and behold, there was Macca sitting on her doorstep!

If we weren't sure what was happening before we are now. Wayne was outside the other day calling him as the neighbour arrived home. He watched as Macca followed her down the stairs and into her house. He just stayed outside calling and calling him until she finally carried him up the stairs and released him saying "now cat you go home".

This is Mac

My next plan is to get a collar and write on it - please do not feed me I have a home and hope she gets the message that way. Failing that I'm not sure what to do!

My party girl

We went to Junglerama this morning to get out of the house and for Trelise to let off some steam. I was busy looking after the babies and lost slight of Trelise for a while. Not any problem for most children as you can't leave without a staff member opening the exit. My girl though likes to party whether she is invited or not! She appeared at my table wearing a party hat!!! Thankfully she decided to leave before the food arrived or so she tells me at least. I shouldn't be surprised as it's not the first time - the first time it happened I spotted her heading into the party tent and rushed down to pluck her out. When I got there she was already sitting up at the table saying "i cake, i cake" with horrified parents looking at her unsure how they were going to evict her!

I'm so struck at how alike all my girls look. It seems strange that they look so similar yet they are so different.

This is Trelise at about 6 months
