Cat food

Oh I feel sick....

From the lounge Trelise yelled out "Mummy the babies are eating catfood"

I ran and yes they were. They had retrieved the cat food bowl (probably pushing poor Freddy out of the way) and were sitting down to a little picnic.

I took the bowl away - Madeleine is still crying wanting her cat food snack!

Arghhhhhhh!

Trelise's New Room

I've finished my first room - the smallest bedroom which at the moment is Trelise's. At some stage in the future we will convert the second lounge into Trelise's bedroom and make this one either Madeleine or Juliette's

This is how the room looked before we brought the house

I've done quite alot of work - first I stripped the wallpaper and then replastered the walls and then three coats of white paint.

Of course I replaced the light and curtains. I found these funky wall stickers - there was a row of rabbits by the bed but sadly in a fit of rage at her mother Trelise removed them and ripped them into pieces!

I'm almost finished Madeleine and Juliette's room - that's taking a little longer as I can only do it when they are with someone else.

And I've started painting the outside of the house - I'm hoping to have a lot done before Trelise's party next weekend but first I have to tackle my room of shame! I would post pictures but I'm not that brave!!!

Is this the most beautiful girl in the world

Sometimes I think so!

What happens when?

You don't put your babies to bed?

Instead you get busy and then it all gets quiet!

On investigation I find that poor Maddie unable to get into her bed has got into mine!

Waikawa

On Wellington Anniversary Day this week we headed to Waikawa Beach (just South of Levin). Trish had this great idea of starting a annual picnic day as she had wonderful memories of picnic's here as a child.

Maddie in her togs

Jules in her togs.

Waikawa Beach is a great venue for families and I can't believe that I've never heard of it before! it's a sandy banked river with a slow current. The river is tidal and was flowing away from the beach so no chance of anyone being swept away!

How to keep three little girls amused for a long time. Dig a hole and put water in it!

This is Wayne piggy backing Trelise across the river to look at some crabs at the river's edge. They were so amused by them that they stayed for ages. I wondered if they were going to come back!

When you are sick of digging with your sand shovel - what to do?

Hit your sister with it!

The river is only a short walk to the beach. The kids all had a fantastic day. They were all busy - not one I'm bored! Of course my lot all fell asleep as soon as the car was moving to come home!

We are looking forward to next years picnic.

Happy 4th Birthday Trelise

On this day 4 years ago I first became a Mummy. Happy Birthday Bunny!

We have had a big Trelise day (of course!) First Trelise chose to take everyone to the beach. The weather was perfect - lots of sun and no wind.

Of course "the sisters" and Chiquita and Carlos came as well.

Trelise spent sometime trying to build a house out of sticks.

I can't explain why Maddie and Jules enjoy having buckets on their heads. This is not the first time!!

It's hard to see but this is my kind girl trying to fix a sandcastle on the beach. A older girl had spent sometime building her sandcastle empire. It was time for her to go and as she walked off her brother kicked over her sandcastle. Of course the girl was upset. As the boy walked past her she told him quite clearly what she thought of his behaviour and then ran over to try and fix the damage. I love this kind, caring side to your personality Trelise.

Nana and Poppa came over to say Happy Birthday

Check out the bag that Auntie Valerie and Uncle Keith sent me from England.

Present time - Trelise was desperate for a new barbie

And super mermaid girl.

Trelise you have had a fantastic day!!!

Spa Fun

I never thought we would get so much use of the spa!

It's so much fun!

Maddie likes to push the button to get the bubbles going!

Resolutions Update

Well so far it's going ok.

I had my first weightwatchers weigh in on Wednesday and I was a whole 2 kilo's down. I am really pleased as it's almost the most I have ever lost in a week. The week that was better involved a huge (and I mean huge) amount of exercise!

I'm still salt free. Missing it alot! I did hope that my taste buds would have adjusted by now - day 15. It's still a struggle but at least I'm halfway through now.

Exercise hasn't been going so well - I'm finding that I'm so busy doing stuff around the house that a whole hour dedicated to exercise isn't working. I'm doing incidental exercise however with all the plastering and sanding of Trelise's bedroom.

I haven't even attempted the week of vegetarianism yet!

Staglands

This week we headed to Staglands for an outing with a couple of other twin mothers. We had such a great time. We fed animals, rode a donkey, and did quite a bit of eating! We have been to Staglands many times before and Trelise's highlight has always been a ride on her favourite horse Brock. Sadly Brock has passed away between visits. Trelise took the news very well thankfully!

On the way home we stopped at a blueberry farm and picked blueberries. I left the camera in the car so no photos sadly.

Pot Problem

The previous owner nicely left me a few pot plants!

I've finally hauled them out and removed them!

New Years Resolutions

I'm thinking if I publish them it's going to make me more accountable!

My first one is weight related. I'm determined to be back to my twin pre pregnancy weight. I was on track until the move and then it all went out the window and I've gained alot! I've got 8 kilo's to get to my weight watchers goal and then I'll ideally like to be 5 kilo's under that. So far day number 2 it's going well.

Second: I add a huge amount of salt to my food and I've decided to go a whole month without adding salt. Not probably a big deal to some people but to me it's quite difficult. I've survived to day number 2 and I'm hoping that my taste buds will recover soon so things will stop tasting so dull!

Third: I'm going to attempt a whole week of vegetarianism. I seem to base a lot of cooking around meat so it will take me a bit of planning but totally achieveable.

Fourth: Exercise - I'm planning on getting an hour in a day. I should be hitting the wii fit instead of typing this!

Fifth: Running - It's always something I've found really hard and I would like to run some sort of endurance race. I'm not committing myself to the length of this yet!

That's it! What are yours?

Ballet Performance 2008

At last I've managed to post a video! This is Trelise's ballet performance - she is the last one of the second group of girls. Apologies for the standard of taping - I had Juliette on my lap who wanted to prove to the world that she could dance and was none to happy at being held back!
