Update on Jo

It's July 2012 and my life is about to change.  In two weeks all of my gorgeous girls will be at school.  No more kindy, no more playgroups, no more pre-schooler activities.  In the last year I will have gone from no child free time to being child free 30 hours a week!

In one hand I'm pleased and ready for my family to grow up but on the other hand I'm a little sad.  Sometimes when I'm giving Madeleine a cuddle I'm taken back 5 years to neonates and our first cuddle at 2 days old.  I look down and I'm surprised to see a big head of curly hair!

Having a monoamniotic twin pregnancy was one of the hardest things I've ever had to face.  But 5 years on that blur of appointments, ultrasounds, hospital in-patient and neonates has faded and I'm left with two little girls who I'm still incredibly grateful to have.  I do still worry about the effects of premature birth and the repeated rounds of steroids the girls had.  They are still little (but not so much compared with their peers now), I'm not happy with their speech but I'm hopeful that starting school will help with this (as it did with Trelise).

My blonde bandit hasn't changed that much.  She is still loud and totally out there.  She is doing well at school this year and is up to National Standard for reading - not so for maths and writing but I'm confident that it will all work out in the end.

We are nearing the end of our house renovation.  What we thought would be a quick and easy do up turned into a mammoth 3 - 4 year exercise.   Of course now we are nearing the end our minds have turned to where do we want to move to next!

I've almost finished training to be a Davis Facilitator.  After over 7 years at home I'm really looking forward to getting out and working.  As well as earning money I'll be able to make a difference in other children, adults and families lives.  I can't wait!  Davis has pretty much taken up all of my free time in the last year.

I've lost weight, put on weight, lost weight and put it back on!
