What's so special about this butterfly?
It's a survivor!
Trelise loved her swan plant maybe a little to much! And this caterpillar survived mass caterpillar cullings (she didn't like to many on her plant), various trips around the garden and being placed directly into the summer sun.
If it wasn't amazing enough that it made it into a chrysalis it was then picked by a certain 4 year old. It was saved by hanging inside until it emerged.
Who would have thought being a butterfly would be so stressful!

Nice photo and yes, it certainly is a survivor! : )
WOW! So cool that you got that on camera before gone forever!
Nature can be so cruel :)
WOw. I love the shot. My neighbor girl has caterpillars and I wonder if they'll survive the handling! :) Looks like they have a chance after all :)
Wow... what a shot.. I feel like ironing the wings out a bit.
I hope it straightened out.
That is pretty amazing!
